The Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation (TTDC) will launch its Chennai city sightseeing Tour on Wednesday.
The tour, an initiative of the TTDC and Southern Railway, will be in addition to the coach tour operated by the TTDC, Commissioner of Tourism and TTDC Managing Director M. Rajaram said.
“This tourist-friendly initiative will benefit those transiting through Chennai, mostly by long-haul express trains,” The TTDC seeks to give them a glimpse of the city’s tourist attractions,” such as the Snake Park, the Kapaleeswarar temple, the Marina Beach, Valluvar Kottam, the museum, and Fort St. George,” he said.
Since the MRTS network touches the Beach area and goes right up to Velachery, tourists will get a bird’s eye view of the best parts of the city, he said.
Tourists will be picked up at the Tourism Complex on Wallajah Road and taken by a TTDC coach to the Chepauk station.
Then they will travel up to the MRTS station at Thiruvanmiyur, where they will again be shifted to the coach to complete the tour.
Trip tariff
The tariff will be Rs.130 a person irrespective of his age.
